Callahan tapped prod'n VP at Reuther's Bel Air

Ex-Touchstone director to join WB-based prodco

Christy Callahan, a former director of development at Touchstone Pictures, has joined Steve Reuther's Bel Air Entertainment as a VP of production.

Callahan will be responsible for finding, getting and developing material for Bel Air to produce, as well as working with filmmakers to help bring the projects to completion.

She reports to Alex Schwartz, Bel Air's exec VP of production, and to Reuther. Bel Air is based at Warner Bros.

At Touchstone, Callahan spent three years as a creative exec and director of production. She worked with Schwartz and other Touchstone execs there on such pics as "The Preacher's Wife," "Beloved," "Rushmore" and "The Other Sister," helmed and written by Garry Marshall.

Before Touchstone, she was a reader for New Line Cinema's New York office and a production assistant on "The Santa Clause."
