Exex climb at Summit

Lester, Lieberman, Kembel, Bulstrode settle in new posts

Summit Entertainment has promoted several execs in its creative affairs and distribution and servicing departments.

The indie sales and distribution company, headed by prexy and CEO Patrick Wachsberger, has upped Heidi Lester to senior VP of acquisitions and production and Todd Lieberman to director of acquisitions and production.

Lester joined Summit in 1994 from Largo Entertainment. She will assume several responsibilities formerly held by veep of creative affairs Andrew Martin, who is shifting to a development consultancy position at Summit. Lieberman, who will report to Lester, has worked at Summit since last year. He will focus on developing young writers and new filmmakers for the company.

Summit also has promoted two execs in distribution and servicing. Brad Kembel becomes VP of international administration, and Sara Bulstrode, veep of distribution services. Kembel reports to Summit chief financial officer Bob Heyward. Bulstrode reports to Kaye Cooper-Mead, senior VP of distribution.

Summit handles international distribution in certain territories for films produced by Mandalay Pictures and Constantin Films, among other entities, as well as for Artisan Entertainment.

Summit's upcoming pics include Mike Figgis' "The Loss of Sexual Innocence," Alejandro Amenabar's "Open Your Eyes," Gregg Araki's "Splendor" and the Bruce Willis starrer "Breakfast of Champions."
