Botko WBTV longform VP

Development exec to o'see TV rights for movies, minis

Warner Bros. TV vet James Botko has been upped to VP of movies and miniseries development.

Botko, with WB since 1992, is responsible for pursuing the TV rights to books, real-life stories and other properties with longform potential. He also oversees all of the studio's longform development and production.

Botko reports to Gregg Maday, senior veep of movies and miniseries development. Made-fors by WB during Botko's tenure include CBS' "Never Give Up: The Jimmy V. Story," ABC's "The Shining" and NBC's upcoming mini "A Will of Their Own."

Before coming to WB, Botko worked as manager of longform for Fox Broadcasting Co. He also served as director of development and acquisitions for Image Organization.
