CTW taps Cahn

Exec named prexy of TV, vid, film group

NEW YORK -- Children's Television Workshop on Wednesday named Alice Cahn, the former director of children's programming for PBS, group president, television, film and video.

Cahn, who will begin in her new post in early September, will be responsible for all CTW domestic and international creative development and television production. She also will be responsible for homevideo and audio production and the development and production of film projects.

Cahn will join CTW's operating business team, where she will work closely with J. Baxter Urist, group prexy, products and international television, and Nina Link, group president, publishing and new media. Urist, Link and Cahn all report to Gary Knell, executive VP, operations for CTW.

Cahn fills the position left open when Marjorie Kalins left in May to produce the CTW/Sony "Sesame Street" feature "Elmo in Grouchland."
