Forever tango with Duvall
Actor to head U.S. academy of Argentinian dance
WASHINGTON -- Actor Robert Duvall, a tango lover, has accepted an invitation to head a U.S. Tango Academy that will promote the Argentine dance in the United States, the Argentine embassy said Wednesday.
Duvall has made several trips to Argentina to research a film he hopes to write and direct about his new dance passion.
The actor and his Argentine girlfriend, Lucianna Pedrazza, attended a barbecue hosted by Argentine ambassador Diego Guelar on Tuesday night in Washington, where he listened to a tango trio but declined to dance.
Embassy officials said they hoped Duvall's involvement in the academy, the 23rd of its kind around the world, would lead other Hollywood personalities to tango.
