Headley, Fehrman in 'Encore!'

Thesps join cast of NBC sitcom

Emmy-nominated actress Glenne Headley and newcomer Trevor Fehrman are joining the cast of Nathan Lane's upcoming NBC sitcom "Encore!"

Headley has starred in more than a dozen feature films, including "2 Days in the Valley," "Mr. Holland's Opus," "Dick Tracy," "Sgt. Bilko" and "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels." She also recently had a bit part in the bigscreen version of "The X-Files."

In television, Headley recently had a recurring role on "ER" as Noah Wyle's love interest. She's also earned two Emmy nominations for work in the telefilms "Bastard Out of Carolina" and "Lonesome Dove." Her other starring roles include "And the Band Played On."

On "Encore!," Headley will play Francesca Pinoni, the younger, overshadowed sister of Lane's character, Joseph, a former opera singer. Headley's character is a single mom who lives with her mother and son, running the family winery.

Fehrman, a Minneapolis commercial actor and newcomer to TV, plays Michael, the naive, 15-year-old son of Francesca.

"Encore!" is produced by Grub Street Prods. and Paramount Network TV, and it's expected to debut Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 8:30 p.m. Executive producers on the sitcom are "Frasier's" David Angell, Peter Casey and David Lee, as well as Anne Flett-Giordano and Chuck Ranberg.
