Industry steers Driver to 'Glamour Girls' role

Thesp, sister walk Fine Line for romantic comedy

Management/production company Industry Entertainment has announced its third project under its first-look deal with New Line Cinema/Fine Line Features, the romantic comedy "Glamour Girls."

Industry client Minnie Driver will star in the film. There is no director attached.

New Line Prods. prexy Michael De Luca and Industry principals Keith Addis and Nick Wechsler made the announcement.

Pic, which Industry will produce together with Minnie Driver's sister, Kate Driver, is about a working-class woman who transforms herself into a debutante in order to break into the upper-class world of a fashion magazine.

The Driver sisters have their own production outfit, Two Drivers, whose first credit is the upcoming indie pic "At Sachem Farm," written and directed by John Huddles and starring Minnie Driver.

John Strauss and Ed Decter (co-writers of the forthcoming 20th Fox comedy "Something About Mary") will exec produce "Glamour." Script is being written by Ron Burch and David Kidd, based on a story by Strauss and Decter.

Industry's Marc Evans and David Carmel brought the pitch to New Line's vice prexy of production Donna Langley and creative exec Carolyn Manetti. New Line senior VP of business affairs David Alper negotiated on behalf of the studio.
