Garrett joins Allen project

He'll appear opposite Penn, Thurman

Brad Garrett, who will soon begin taping his third season on the CBS sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond," has joined the cast of Woody Allen's next feature, where he'll appear opposite Sean Penn and Uma Thurman.

Allen will start shooting the untitled pic in August in Gotham. In April, Miramax acquired North American rights to Allen's latest, "Celebrity," starring Kenneth Branagh, Judy Davis and Leonardo DiCaprio.

On "Raymond," Garrett plays the older brother of star Ray Romano. Garrett's other acting credits includes HBO's "Don King" biopic and the feature "Suicide Kings."

He is repped by Glenn Robinson and Doug Wald at Raw Talent.
