Keener nabs 'Being' role

Keener will play Maxine, who is the love interest to both Cusack's and Malkovich's characters in the story of a puppeteer (Cusack) who finds a porthole that leads to Malkovich's brain.
Spike Jonze is helming the pic, which starts shooting July 20. "Being" is being produced by Propaganda chief Steve Golin, Propaganda's Vincent Landay and Single Cell Pictures' Sandy Stern and Michael Stipe. Charles Kaufman wrote the screenplay.
Keener next appears in Propaganda's forthcoming "Your Friends and Neighbors" from helmer Neil LaBute ( "In the Company of Men"). Gramercy will release the pic in the U.S. Aug. 28.
"Sight," which is directed by Irwin Winkler and stars Val Kilmer and Mira Sorvino, comes out in the U.S. on Oct. 23.
Keener also has a role opposite Nicolas Cage in "8 Millimeter," which Joel Schumacher is directing for Columbia Pictures.
Leslie Siebert of the Gersh Agency repped her in the deal.
