Frank DeVaney dies at 58
Longtime exec in film, TV product placement
DeVaney began his career in 1956 at the Fred Kline Agency in Los Angeles. Joining Rogers & Cowan 1982 as executive vice president, he spearheaded the product placement department, which served businesses such as Ford Motor Co., AT&T, Schieffelin & Co. and Nabisco.
In 1990, DeVaney founded the Entertainment Resources & Marketing Association, the placement industry's ethical and professional association, and served as its honorary chairman. He retired from the business in 1995.
DeVaney is survived by two sisters, a brother, two nieces and a nephew.
Services will be held 3:30 p.m. July 12 at the Royal Palms, 360 S. Westlake Ave., Los Angeles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Project Angel Food or Van Ness House in Hollywood.
