Vision Awards focus on Milchan's career
Myers to emcee; Kenny G among performers
Other honorees at the benefit for Retinitis Pigmentosa Intl. include Joan Cusack, Matt Damon, Helen Hunt, producers Lawrence Bender and Jon Peters, and directors Arthur Hiller and Richard Donner.
Mike Myers will emcee and Kenny G, Brian McKnight, and Mona Golabek will perform at the ceremony Saturdayat the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Dinner chairman is Bill Mechanic, CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment.
RPI has been fighting blindness since 1974 by raising funds for research as well as providing information and counseling for retinitis pigmentosa patients. Through the annual Vision Awards, the organization shows it appreciation for people who have used their talents to further develop a product or service that benefits humanity.
"With the strong support of Bill Mechanic and 20th Century Fox," RPI president Helen Harris said, "we are looking forward to an extraordinary event to fund the cure for RP and other debilitating, blinding eye diseases."
