Sony taps Murphy

He's sr. veep, worldwide product fulfillment group

Sony Pictures Entertainment has named Patrick Murphy senior vice president of its worldwide product fulfillment group.

Murphy will report to William Humphrey, executive VP of SPE's Digital Studios Division, the umbrella under which the WPFG unit falls.

The product fulfillment group is responsible for the sales and technical servicing of all SPE's theatrical, TV and homevideo product, including the studio's channels and film library.

Before joining SPE, Murphy held senior posts at Turner Entertainment, where he was responsible for maintenance of the MGM library, and at MGM itself.

Prior to that, he worked as an independent record producer for Warner Bros., A&M and CBS Sony, among other companies.
