Muldoon in MGM's 'Toby'

Joins Gabriel Byrne and Patricia Arquette in spiritual thriller

Patrick Muldoon, last seen blasting arachnids in "Starship Troopers," has joined Patricia Arquette and Gabriel Byrne in the cast of MGM's "Toby's Story."

Muldoon plays Arquette's love interest in the film, which tells the story of a Vatican investigator (Byrne) looking into the case of a young woman who is experiencing intense stigmata and other, often violent, phenomena.

Pic is produced by Frank Mancuso Jr. and directed by Rupert Wainright from a script by Rick Ramage.

Muldoon also stars opposite Julia Stiles in Michael Steinberg's indie black comedy "Wicked," which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. He also stars in the upcoming HBO feature "Black Cat Run," written and directed by Frank Darabont.

Muldoon, who spent a year starring on "Melrose Place," made his feature debut last year in Sony's "Starship Troopers," the futuristic war film directed by Paul Verhoeven.
