WB takes USA's Hamlin pilot

Comedy co-stars Jennifer Grant

USA Networks Studios has sold a comedy pilot starring Harry Hamlin ("L.A. Law") and Jennifer Grant ("Beverly Hills, 90210") to the WB Network.

The sitcom, Hamlin's first, is called "Movie Stars," and it's about a husband and wife movie star couple living in Malibu trying to raise three kids.

The pilot is executive produced by Jonathan Axelrod and Jamie Widdoes ("Dave's World," "Can't Hurry Love"), who also is directing the pilot. The co-executive producer and writer is Wayne Lemon ("Grace Under Fire").

Hamlin is best known for his role on "L.A. Law," but he also had a recurring role on CBS' "Ink," and he starred in the CBS miniseries "Night Sins." He's also starred in numerous other TV movies and miniseries.

On the feature film side, Hamlin's credits include "Clash of the Titans," "Movie, Movie," "Making Love" and "Blue Skies Again."

Grant, the daughter of Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon, made her bigscreen acting debut in "The Evening Star," the sequel to "Terms of Endearment." She had a recurring role on "90210" as Steve's (Ian Ziering) girlfriend, and she's had a guest stint on "Friends," playing Chandler's (Matthew Perry) love interest and secretary.

Hamlin's deal was brokered by Hyler Management and the Gersh Agency, while Grant's deal was brokered by Scott Bank-ston at Propaganda Management and Chris Schmidt at Writers & Artists Agency.
