Anthony Zummo has been promoted to VP of legal affairs at Universal Pictures, where he'll be responsible for managing and supervising the feature film division's legal staff while handling day-to-day legal matters for the unit. Zummo, who joined U in 1988, has been an attorney in the feature legal department since 1996. Zummo previously was VP-legal affairs for Universal Home Video and Universal Pay/Pay Per View Television.

Hans Fischman has been tapped manager of new media for LMNO Prods. A former supervisor of software content for GTE MainStreet, Fischman will handle new media ventures and interactive marketing for LMNO.

A-Pix Entertainment has bumped up Jerry Smallwood to executive veep, and has upped Frank Slugaski to senior VP of sales and marketing. Smallwood will oversee operations in the video division, concentrating on the sell-through lines; he moves up from his sales senior VP post and has been with the company since it was formed in 1993. Slugaski will create and coordinate marketing campaigns for the company in tandem with all sales initiatives; he advances from his sales and marketing veepee slot.

France Telecom's broadcast services division GlobeCast has appointed Robert Behar president and CEO of its subsidiary GlobeCast North America. Behar also is a founding partner, president and CEO of Hero Prods., a full-service international teleport and TV production facility in Miami. Behar is a 28-year vet of the TV production industry and a founding partner and chairman of HTV, the first 24-hour all-Spanish-language music network.
