Addis-Wechsler now Industry
Management/production company changes monikers
The new moniker reflects the promotion of two key execs, Rick Yorn and Julie Silverman-Yorn, to co-prexys of the company, with Addis and Wechsler becoming co-chairs.
The restructuring comes in the wake of the company's signing of a three-year, first-look production deal with New Line Cinema on Wednesday (Daily Variety, March 26), and its sale of a majority of its equity to the Interpublic Group of Companies in August last year.
Industry represents a roster of film and TV talent, writers and directors, and has produced such films as "sex, lies and videotape," "Drugstore Cowboy," "The Player," "Little Odessa," "Love Jones" and "Polish Wedding."
Yorn came to the company in 1993 after spending two years at Carlyle Management. His client roster includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Claire Danes, Gabriel Byrne, Matt Dillon, Ed Burns, Lauren Holly, Ted Demme and Benicio del Toro.
Silverman-Yorn manages Samuel L. Jackson, Steve Buscemi, Minnie Driver, Teri Hatcher, Anthony LaPaglia and Anna Paquin. Her first producing effort, "Trees Lounge," was packaged and developed together with Buscemi, who made his directorial debut on the project.
Silverman-Yorn also served as exec producer on "Eve's Bayou," the directorial debut of client Kasi Lemmons.
