'Moby,' 'South' ratings go north

The big fish and the little kids take 1st and 2nd

The USA Network two-night original "Moby Dick" took first and second places among basic-cable programs for the first quarter of '98 in total households, with Nielsen Media ratings of 8.1. Comedy Central's animated "South Park" claimed six of the top nine spots, and seven of the top 12.

Wednesday night episodes of "South Park" landed in third through sixth, as well as eighth and ninth places. TNT's "WCW Monday Nitro" was in seventh, while 10th place was a three-way tie among "WCW," "South Park" and the Nashville Network's NASCAR/Goodwrench 400 auto race.
