Robert Burton Inkelas, 69

Former TV art director

Robert Burton Inkelas, a former television art director, died Feb. 8 of heart failure at his home in Santa Monica. He was 69.

Inkelas began his career in TV working as an art director on commercials. In 1961 he became the assistant art director on "Make Room for Daddy." Inkelas then worked in NBC's creative department during the mid- to late 1960s.

After winning an Emmy for art direction in 1970, Inkelas left TV and went into the real estate industry.

Inkelas is survived by two daughters, one son and one grandson.
