'Damage' hits Jour de Fete

Outfest winner picked up, to premiere in Gotham

Jour de Fete Films, which recently was founded by former Strand Releasing co-president Mike Thomas and former Strand exec Dan Castle, has made its first acquisition, snagging North American theatrical rights to Victor Mignatti's romantic comedy "Broadway Damage."

Produced by David Topel, "Damage" has won several honors on the fest circuit, including audience award for best film at L.A.'s Outfest.

In addition to forming Jour de Fete with Castle, Thomas recently announced his partnership with Rialto Pictures, which will specialize in classic revivals.

"Broadway Damage" premieres May 22 in Gotham, followed by openings in L.A. and other major U.S. cities throughout the summer.
