Kevin Mayer has been upped to the newly created post of senior VP of strategic planning for the Walt Disney Co.
With his promotion from veepee, Mayer's responsibilities have been expanded to cover strategic planning for ABC's broadcast and cable TV operations, in addition to developing business opportunities for new media outlets and new technologies. Mayer, who joined Disney in 1993, reports to Lawrence Murphy, exec VP of strategic planning.
