'South Park' headed for Newsweek cover

Fresh from scoring cover story treatment from both Rolling Stone and Spin magazines during the same week in February, Comedy Central's cartoon phenomenon "South Park" -- which has emerged as the highest-rated program on basic cable for five weeks running -- was poised over the weekend to score the cover of the Newsweek edition that hits stands today (barring any major breaking news).

The original "South Park" character art developed for the Newsweek cover remained a hush-hush secret kinda thing. But there is reportedly no truth to the rumor that the cover head will read, "Yep, We're Gay."
