Caviezel joins 'To Live On'

Joins Jewel and Ulrich in cast of Ang Lee pic

Actor Jim Caviezel, who recently wrapped filming in Australia on Terrence Malick's "The Thin Red Line," has joined the cast of another war epic, Ang Lee's "To Live On."

He began rehearsing last week in Kansas City, Mo., where the film will be shot. Caviezel will play the fierce leader of a gang of Civil War bushwhackers. Singer Jewel and Skeet Ulrich are also in the film.

Scripter James Schamus is co-producing "To Live On" with Ted Hope and Bob Colesbury. Schamus also wrote "The Ice Storm," Lee's last directorial effort.

In the World War II story "The Thin Red Line," Caviezel worked alongside George Clooney, Sean Penn, Nick Nolte, John Travolta and Bill Pullman. Caviezel was last seen in "G.I. Jane," "Wyatt Earp" and "My Own Private Idaho."

Caviezel's deal for "To Live On" was negotiated by Pamela Cole at Don Buchwald and Associates, his manager Beverlee Dean and attorney Frank Stewart.
