Dominick brings 'Stings' into development

Updated, meaner 'Candid Camera'

Can lightning strike twice for Richard Dominick, the man who made "Jerry Springer" a hot commodity in talk TV? Dominick is developing a project, tentatively titled "Stings," for USA Networks (formerly Universal TV) that's described as a nasty version of "Candid Camera," where ordinary people stumble into elaborate practical jokes while the hidden cameras roll. A rep for USA declined to comment on the project, which is still in the early stages of development. Dominick, who has been exec producer of "Jerry Springer" for the past 3-1/2 years, is credited with the turning Springer's fortunes around by pushing the show to extremes while other talkers were toning down the T&A and fist-fighting.
