Kopelson ups Stevenson

He's new senior veep

Just four years removed from his salad days as an intern at the company, Damian Stevenson has been upped to senior vice president of production at Kopelson Entertainment.

In his new post, Stevenson will report to president of production Stephen Brown, as well as company founders Arnold and Anne Kopelson. He will continue to work closely with Nana Greenwald, prexy of creative affairs for the 20th Century Fox-based company.

Stevenson's quick rise through the ranks of Kopelson Entertainment began in 1994 when he was hired as a creative affairs intern fresh out of Oxford U. He soon moved up to story editor, then director of development and has served as the company's VP of creative affairs for the past two years.

"Damian has been an integral part in the growth of our company and is responsible for acquiring a number of our projects, and bringing them to fruition," said Arnold Kopelson.

Stevenson's path through the Kopelson executive hierarchy had been paved by Sanford Panitch, who had served as one of Kopelson's top execs before joining Fox as a senior VP of production in 1995. Panitch, who had an equally fast rise from director of development to executive VP of the then-Warner Bros.-based company, took Stevenson under his wing before moving to Fox.
