Carsey-Werner bows London office

'Cosby', '3rd Rock' co goes Euro

HOLLYWOOD - Carsey-Werner Intl. is setting up a European office based in London and has tapped acquisitions and sales veteran Alexandra Taylor to the newly created position of VP.

Taylor will be responsible for sales activities in the U.K., Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She will focus on all C-W programming, including the hit NBC series "3rd Rock From the Sun," the new Fox series "Damon," Bill Cosby's current CBS sitcom "Cosby" and ABC's "Grace Under Fire."

Taylor will report to Herb Lazarus, president of the international division.

"The growth in the level of interest in our programming in Europe and other territories was also the catalyst for establishing our London operation," Lazarus said. He added that the company is also beginning to exploit sales opportunities to fledgling digital satellite TV programmers abroad and that Taylor's experience in that arena will be crucial.

With over 17 years of sales and program buying experience in the global TV arena, Taylor joins Carsey-Werner from the London office of Turner Entertainment Networks Intl. In her prior position as associate director of program acquisitions, she was buyer for TNT Europe and the Cartoon Network Europe.

Before joining Turner, Taylor held key sales positions with Paris-based Panavision Intl. and prior to that, at Eagle Lion Distribution.
