DreamWorks has tapped video industry veteran Matt Brown to head its new worldwide homevideo division, which to date has zero films in release. That will change on March 10, when DreamWorks' first feature release, "The Peacemaker," hits the video stores.
In the new post, Brown will oversee the video release of all DreamWorks live-action and animated projects, reporting to Ann Daly, co-head of feature animation.
Brown joins DreamWorks from his previous position as exec VP of West Coast Entertainment Co., a video retail chain based in Newton, Pa. Prior to that, he worked for seven years at Buena Vista Home Video, where he eventually became VP of sales and distribution.
Brown began his career in the video business in 1980 at Artech Entertainment in Shelburne, Vt., where he rose through the ranks to become senior VP and general manager.
