Jones on Castle Rock's payroll

'Austin Stories' creator signs two-year deal

Castle Rock TV has inked a two-year, six-figure overall deal with writer-producer Jim Jones, the creator and executive producer of MTV's "Austin Stories." Jones will develop and produce new comedy and drama projects for Castle Rock.

He already has a blind commitment from NBC and a script deal at Fox for an untitled comedy about two homicide detectives, co-created by Jordan Brady.

In addition to "Austin Stories," Jones was a producer on Fox's "The Ben Stiller Show," "Mad TV" and the feature film "Reality Bites." "Austin Stories" debuted in September on MTV, and Jones recently ankled the show to enter into the Castle Rock deal.

Jones is repped by UTA's Chris Coelen and Evan Weiss, as well as his attorney Neil Meyer.
