'Blues' red hot

Brothers, cast, guests strut stuff at preem

"Sunglasses at Night" could have served as the theme song for the world premiere of U's "Blues Brothers 2000" Saturday night at the Universal Amphitheater.

Pic's stars Dan Aykroyd and John Goodman arrived via motorcycle brigade for the event, broadcast live on VH1. They met up with director John Landis and co-stars Nia Peeples, Joe Morton and J. Evan Bonifant.

Also celebrating the crooners' legacy were "Saturday Night Live's" Cheri Oteri, Dodger slugger Mike Piazza, Blues Traveler's John Popper, Frankie Valli and two incarnations of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Kristy Swanson, from the 1992 pic, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, from the current WB series.

Post-screening blues festival took place under a massive bigtop overlooking Universal City. Popper, Goodman and Aykroyd all belted out their favorite R&B tunes while fans feasted on southern barbecue.
