Gary Johns has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Sony Cinema Products Corp., the technology group encompassing Sony's trademark sound system, Sony Dynamic Digital Sound (SDDS).
Meanwhile, John Scarcella has been upped from president and chief operating officer of SCPC to vice chairman. Scarcella will also take on the new title of VP of Sony's National Accounts Organization, focusing on major network accounts such as ABC, CBS, NBC and Turner/CNN.
Johns previously served as director, business and industrial strategic marketing, for Sony Broadcast and Professional, Europe, based in Amster-dam. He and Scarcella will report to Charles Steinberg, president of Sony's business and professional products group.
