Warner Bros. has upped Nancy Kirkpatrick, a veteran publicist responsible for many of the studio's most successful motion picture releases, to the position of senior vice president of publicity.
In the new position, Kirkpatrick will oversee publicity campaigns for selected motion pictures and serve as a resource for the department at large. She'll report to Charlotte Kandel, exec VP of worldwide publicity and promotion.
Kirkpatrick, who joined the WB publicity department in 1982, has managed the publicity of such films as "Twister," "L.A. Confidential," "Natural Born Killers" and "Space Jam."
Among her upcoming projects are Ralph Fiennes, Uma Thurman and Sean Connery in "The Avengers," produced by Jerry Weintraub; "A Perfect Murder," with Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow, produced by Arnold Kopelson; and "Quest for Camelot," WB's first fully animated feature.
Kirkpatrick's career at WB has included the appointment to director of publicity in 1992, and to vice president of publicity in 1994.
