Exhib UATC 'is not for sale'

NEW YORK - United Artists Theatre Circuit Inc. "is not for sale," the exhibitor said Monday in a statement, disputing a report published elsewhere last week.

"The board has never approved a sale of this company nor is one intended at this time. Our objective is to strengthen the United Artists franchise and to this end we are conducting a search for a new chief executive officer who will lead this valuable franchise into the next century" said a UA director Albert Fitzgibbons.
