NBC to fire up 'Shoot Me'in 'Behaving Badly' slot
By
NBC has slotted the Brillstein-Grey Entertainment midseason comedy "Just Shoot Me" for the 9:30 p.m. Wednesday slot currently held by Carsey-Werner's "Men Behaving Badly," effective March 5.
"Just Shoot Me," which stars Laura San Giacomo, George Segal and David Spade, will be previewed by the Peacock web in the 9:30 p.m. Tuesday slot following "Frasier" on March 4.
Ironically, "Just Shoot Me" creator and executive producer Steven Levitan last month also assumed executive producing duties on "Men Behaving Badly" after NBC Entertainment president Warren Littlefield convinced him to pull double duty.
"Men Behaving Badly" had been going through some behind-the-scenes turmoil, which Levitan is said to have smoothed out. "Just Shoot Me," said to be a favorite of NBC last spring, will have a five-episode run after which "Men Behaving Badly" will return.
So far this season, "Men Behaving Badly" has had a hard time establishing itself as NBC looks to make Wednesday night its next comedy success story. It is averaging a 7.9 rating and a 12 share in households, according to Nielsen.
