Sharon Stone will host the American Film Institute's Life Achievement honors to Martin Scorsese on Feb. 20, it was announced Tuesday. The 25th anniversary presentation will be broadcast by CBS later in the spring.
The initial lineup of on-air participants also was announced with the director's most famous acting collaborator Robert De Niro heading the list. Other performers scheduled to participate include Rosanna Arquette, Jodie Foster, Barbara Hershey, Kris Kristofferson, Spike Lee, Joe Pesci, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Paul Sorvino and James Woods.
Louis J. Horvitz will direct his eighth AFI salute and Michael Stevens returns for the fifth time as event producer. George Stevens Jr., who conceived the awards in 1973, once again serves as executive producer and co-writer with Chris Henchy and Bob Shrum.
