McArdle shifts posts at Turner
New TOP exec will develop nonfiction programming
In the new post, McArdle will be responsible for developing nonfiction programming and seeking potential acquisitions for TOP on the West Coast. She also will recruit talent to serve both behind and in front of the camera. She joins supervising producers (and VPs) Jacoba Atlas and Tom McMahon in TOP's L.A. offices.
Since working with TOP over the past 10 months, McArdle has brought in a pair of projects that have recently been greenlit for production. One is "CIA" (working title), the true stories of seven former CIA covert operations agents. The other has yet to be announced.
McArdle began her career as a PR executive with Samantha Dean and Associates in New York after working with the IFP and First Run Features. She joined Turner in public relations and has worked on campaigns for such projects as "Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream," "A Century of Women" and "Survivors of the Holocaust."
TBS also announced Tuesday that Lisa Atkinson has been named to replace McArdle as PR manager on the West Coast for Turner Entertainment Group, based in Los Angeles. She was most recently the Atlanta-based senior publicist for TBS Superstation.
