Newcomer snags lead in Brit comedy
Pic is a "Four Weddings and a Funeral"-like romantic comedy about an American woman who moves to London and finds herself the center of attention of three Brit men. The hijinks begin when the trio of best friends start vying for her love and attention. Pic is slated to go before the cameras May 17 in the U.K.
Potter's star has risen quickly since she appeared in an international commercial helmed by French director Luc Besson, who subsequently brought her to the attention of his agents at CAA. Now repped by the agency, the Ohio native has snagged featured roles in two upcoming studio features.
She plays the ingenue in the otherwise testosterone-frenzied actioner "Con Air," produced by Jerry Bruckheimer for Disney. In the pic, Potter portrays the wife of Nicolas Cage's recently paroled character, who is caught up in a hijacking of a prisoner transport plane while enroute to a reunion with his wife and daughter.
The 25-year-old thesp next can be seen portraying Billy Crudup's love interest in Warner Bros.' "Pre." The Robert Towne-helmed biopic tells the story of the brash and charismatic Olympic runner Steve Prefontaine, who died in a car accident in 1975 at age 24. Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner produced the film due out in the fall.
Potter is repped by CAA's Jennifer Gabler and Michael Davis
