Antena 3 pacts with Artear
BUENOS AIRES --- Spain's Antena 3 Television Internacional (A3TVI) has signed a distribution agreement with Artear, which will handle the general entertainment channel in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Brazil and Bolivia beginning in May.
A3TVI carries such hit fare as gameshow "El Juego de la Oca," sitcom "Farmacia de Guardia" and reality show "Sorpresa, Sorpresa!"
The agreement includes promotion of A3TVI on Artear's four cable channels, Volver (films), Todo Noticias (news), Magazine 24 (general entertainment) and Canal 13 Satelital (the cable version of Artear shown in the provinces).
The three-year deal is renewable and the Argentine group will get a commission above the market average as it covers both distribution and advertising.
Antena 3 has separate distribution deals in Mexico, with Multivision, in Peru, with Cable Magico, and with satcaster Galaxy Latin America. The cabler also will soon open a Miami office to handle ad sales.
