After more than eight years as partners, Hollywood publicists Murray Weissman and Tony Angellotti have dissolved their entertainment publicity and marketing company.
In a statement, Angellotti and Weissman said that the separation was entirely amicable, but that they have decided to establish their own independent agencies for professional reasons, and may continue to associate on select accounts in the future.
Weissman has re-established his Murray Weissman & Associates, originally formed 18 years ago. And Angellotti has formed the Angellotti Co. Until they relocate offices in March, the two will maintain their current addresses and phone numbers.
Among the accounts that will continue to be represented by Weissman are the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Matthau Co., the Primetime and Daytime Emmy Awards, the TV Academy Hall of Fame, Rosemount Prods., the People's Choice Awards, the CableAce Awards, Miramax Films, the ACE Awards and other individual films, corporate entertainment companies and projects.
Sheri Goldberg will continue to work with Weissman and has been promoted to VP of his new company.
Accounts that will continue to be represented by Angellotti include Miramax Films, Scripps Howard Prods., the Gersh Agency, Neufeld/Rehme Prods., October Films, MPH Entertainment, Brian Dennehy and David Paymer.
Former Weissman/Angellotti VP Karen Fried will continue working with Angellotti at his new shingle.
