Wolf back at WCBS news
Voluble sportscaster Warner Wolf has rejoined WCBS New York five years after leaving the station for Washington, D.C.
Wolf returns to the CBS flagship station's 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, all a distant third in the market, beginning Feb. 3.
Known for his antic style and signature "Let's go to the videotape," Wolf moved to Gannett Broadcasting's WUSA in 1992 after WCBS cut his steep paycheck in a new contract proposal and replaced him with Bernie Smilovitz, who proved unpopular with viewers and critics, and has left the station.
Wolf worked at WCBS from 1980-92, and earlier worked for WABC and ABC Sports.
