Elfman, Fox TV do 'Dharma'
The first project for Elfman is Twentieth's ABC comedy pilot "Dharma & Greg," created by Chuck Lorre ("Cybill," "Grace Under Fire") and Dottie Dartland (who co-created and executive produced "Caroline in the City" as well as co-executive produced "Cybill" and "Grace").
The project will star Elfman and Thomas Gibson, who is exiting his role as Dr. Daniel Nyland on "Chicago Hope," as a couple who get married within 24 hours of knowing each other, despite their vastly different backgrounds.
Elfman, who was considered one of the bright spots of "Townies," was described by Twentieth Century Fox TV prexy Sandy Grushow as having a "unique comic style" that will complement the talents of Lorre and Dartland. Grushow and executive vice president Gary Newman helped lure Elfman to the studio.
Elfman is currently in "Grosse Point Blank." She has also had guest stints on ABC's "Murder One," "NYPD Blue" and "Roseanne."
Her deal was handled my managers Erwin More and Brian Medavoy of More-Medavoy Management. The duo will also serve as executive producers on the series. Her agent is Michael Slessinger & Associates.
