Babelsberg adds 2 in management

BERLIN --- Babelsberg Studios in suburban Berlin is adding to its management team. Arthur Hofer of Bavaria Film and film architect Rainer Schaper, previously head of Babelsberg's art department, will be in charge of running the studio's expanded service area.

Volker Schloendorff and Pierre Couveinhes, managing directors of Babelsberg, will continue to concentrate on production and the development of Babelsberg as a media center.

Hofer, 47, comes to Babelsberg from Munich-based Bavaria Film, where he was manager in the video and studio areas.
