Carl Reiner set to host DGA awards
Carl Reiner will return as host of the Directors Guild of America Awards, to be handed out Saturday at the Century Plaza Hotel.
Sharing the stage with Reiner will be DGA president Gene Reynolds and Hal Kanter.
Jack Nicholson will accept the D. W. Griffith Award for Stanley Kubrick, who directed Nicholson in "The Shining." Former DGA president George Sidney will handle the introduction.
The evening also will feature a tribute to longtime DGA secretary-treasurer Sheldon Leonard, who died in January. Former DGA president Gilbert Cates will deliver the tribute.
Other presenters include Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Joe Pytka, Mike Garrett, Susan Flannery, Sean Mulcahy, Michael Apted, Harvey Korman, Jack Shea, Garry Marshall, Edward Zwick, Randa Haines and Ron Howard.
Music will be provided by the Don Trenner Orchestra.
