Stiller, Live meet at 'Midnight'
NEW YORK --- Ben Stiller ("Flirting With Disaster") will star in "Permanent Midnight," based on Jerry Stahl's autobiography of the same name, for Live Entertainment.
David Veloz wrote the screen adaptation of the book about a TV sitcom writer whose hopes of becoming a success-ful screenwriter are destroyed by his descent into heroin addiction. Veloz, whose writing credits include "Natural Born Killers," will also helm the pic, which is slated to begin lensing in California this summer.
Jane Hamsher and Don Murphy of JD Prods. will produce "Permanent Midnight" after completing Bryan Singer's "Apt Pupil." Yalda Tehranian will be the Live exec in charge of "Permanent Midnight."
Stiller is repped by the United Talent Agency's Nick Adams.
