Henson hooks Kriegman

Jim Henson Prods. has inked a first-look development deal with writer-producer Mitchell Kriegman for both broadcast and cable.

Kriegman, who created and was executive producer of Nickelodeon's "Clarissa Explains It All," will focus on kid-vid as well as adult fare. The first project in development is "Bear and the Big Blue House" for the Disney Channel this fall. Other shows in development at the Disney Channel include a gameshow titled "Attention Earthlings" and the sitcom "Take My Family Please."

Besides "Clarissa Explains It All," Kriegman has worked on several Nickelodeon shows including "Rugrats," "Ren and Stimpy" and "Doug." He was also a staff writer on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."
