U's New Media taps Crane VP

Universal Studios New Media has tapped Lisa Crane to serve as VP of marketing. In the newly created post, Crane will oversee divisional and online marketing and publicity activities for the group. She also will manage promotions, sponsorship and sales activities for the Universal Studios World Wide Web site.

Crane reports to New Media Group president Paul Rioux. She previously was VP of specialty licensing for Univer-sal Studios Consumer Products Group. There, she oversaw creation and implementation of the licensing program for product development and merchandising of Universal's various properties.

She joined Universal in 1993 as VP, animation art.

Industry sources say Crane's appointment is the first in a series of expansions slated for the New Media Group in coming weeks.
