'Rough Draft' moves through smooth shoot

Michael Madsen and Gary Busey have just wrapped shooting on Unapix and Goldbar Entertainment's action thriller "Rough Draft."

Directed by Alan Jacobs ("Nina Takes a Lover") and produced by Kandice King, the film focuses on a journalist who becomes a murder suspect after he is drawn into an encounter with a serial killer he hopes to profile.

Written by Richard Filon and Jennifer Badham, "Rough Draft" also stars Arnold Vosloo, Julia Campbell and Reno Wilson.

Exec producers are Harel Goldstein, Bill Barnett and Unapix prez Robert Baruc.

Madsen, who currently appears in TriStar's "Donnie Brasco," also has had roles in "Species," "Free Willy 2" and "Reservoir Dogs." Busey's credits include "Under Siege," "Lethal Weapon" and "The Firm."

Goldbar will handle foreign rights to "Rough Draft" in all media. Unapix has all domestic rights.
