D'Works digs Gotham

NEW YORK --- DreamWorks SKG plans to open a Gotham office to handle East Coast distribution and marketing at the beginning of June, the studio confirmed Tuesday.

The company has signed a 10-year lease with Hiro Real Estate Co. for the 22nd floor of 650 Madison Ave., between 59th and 60 streets.

David K. Mannix, who is in charge of operations, facilities and administration for DreamWorks, said the new office will house a staff of 10 and will serve as a home base for visiting execs, including studio founders Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen.

DreamWorks already has a production office in Gotham at Chelsea Piers on the Hudson River at 23rd Street, where its television series "Spin City" is filmed.

The Middle-East International Film Festival kicks off this fall.
