'Godzilla' thrilla date set
While uncertainty concerning the launch date of "Titanic" has exhibitors and distributors wondering about the shape of the upcoming summer release schedule, studios already are beginning to stake out key dates for Summer 1998. Sony Pictures Releasing on Tuesday announced plans to release its "Godzilla" remake May 20, 1998, the Wednesday before Memorial Day. Now in production under the helm of "Independence Day" director Roland Emmerich, the pic stars Matthew Broderick, Jean Reno, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer.
