Phase 1 has O'Malley's 'Heart'

Joe Wizan and Don Schneider's Phase 1 Prods. has optioned David O'Malley's pitch, "Heart of My Enemy."

It's the true story of Patricia LaForge, an idealistic young nurse in urban Detroit, who was shot point blank by a mysterious assailant while trying to protect her infant daughter.

Miraculously, she survived the attack, but struggled for years to overcome a devastating fear and loss of trust that threatened to destroy her life.

O'Malley's feature credits include MGM's Carl Reiner-helmed parody "Fatal Instinct," "Edge of Honor," "Easy Wheels" and "Kid Colter."

The pitch was brought to Phase 1's Kristine Schwarz by O'Malley's agent, Daniel Ostroff.
