Robinson inks Showtime pact

Trisha Robinson has signed on at Showtime Networks as vice prexy of theatrical and video distribution.

Robinson, who'll be based in L.A., will work with producers to find theatrical releases for Showtime Original Pictures. She'll also oversee sales-related activity for those vidpics, which are released on video through Paramount, Hallmark, Republic, MGM and BMG.

Robinson comes to the pay cabler from Memgi, a consulting firm specializing in repping product for indie producers; Showtime was a client of the company. Before that, she was president of theatrical and vid distrib Academy Entertainment and was responsible for acquisitions at Lorimar Telepictures.

At Showtime, she'll report to Matthew Riklin, senior veepee of program enterprises and distribution.
