Warner TV arm taps Kaplan

Deborah Kaplan has been named director of development for Warner Bros. TV's Bright/Kauffman/Crane Prods., which produces NBC's "Friends" and the upcoming "Veronica's Closet."

In the new position, Kaplan will be responsible for day-to-day development under Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane.

Previously, Kaplan worked as manager of original series development at USA Network. She also worked in network comedy development at Paramount Pictures TV, and in current programming at NBC.

Kaplan began her career at Stuffed Dog Prods., where she helped develop "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." She also was a script coordinator on the comedy series "Cafe Americain."
